Kay Higgs-Adams holds a Masters in Social Work from the West Virginia. University School of Social Work and is licensed as an independent social worker supervisor, State of Ohio. She is a member and credentialed as a certified family life educator with the National Council on Family Relations Board. Other credentialing’s include Military Family Life Consultant and Family Advocacy programing in support of US Air Force, Us Army. She is certified as a Solution Focused Brief therapist and a certified Prevention Relationship Enhancement Program educator supporting couples.
Clinical skills include prevention education programming and consultation support to military families, private practice, and community based mental health and providing CEU workshops in support of various academia settings. Specialty area of practice include special populations: military families, parenting education, child abuse and domestic violence prevention education awareness trainer, child, adolescent, adult, couples, family and women’s issues. Treatment competencies include anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, post-traumatic stress, obsessive compulsive behaviors, relational stressors, attention deficit with or without hyperactivity, child conduct disorders, and grief, loss, stress or anger management concerns.
